Wiscombe Park, Where to Watch on October 20th

In 1976 when the Lombard Rally visited Wiscombe Park, spectators packed the hill, which was run in the “wrong” direction, going down the tarmac hill. Spectators will have more access in October, with catering and programmes available, plus an expert commentrary. Thanks to Alan Coe for the photos.

    1. Niall, we have just put up a page about where to spectate. The first cars will arrive at Wiscombe at about 11.00am. As you will know, the lanes are not wide in the area, so get there early!

  1. Wiscombe Park will run in the normal hill climb direction. Please contact Wiscombe organisers via their website as they will be marshalling the venue.

  2. I was there with a few mates in ’76. In true RAC tradition it pee’d down all day. Great day though, and as you say they went DOWN hill . . .in the pouring rain . . .rally drivers were made of sterner stuff in those days, not like the ‘sunday’ drivers now eh ??
